How long does a garage floor take to install?

Most 2- and 3-car garages install in a single day. The floor is walk-on ready the next morning, light foot traffic in 24 hours, and vehicle-ready in about 48–72 hours depending on temperature.

Do I need to move everything out of my garage?

Yes, we need a completely empty slab to grind, prep, and coat. We're happy to point you toward local pod-rental options if you need short-term storage.

What's your prep process?

Every project starts with diamond grinding to open the concrete profile, followed by crack and joint repair with a rigid polyurea, then a moisture test. Only then do we start coating. Shortcuts on prep always show up later.

What's the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?

Accepted Answer

Epoxy is a rock-hard, chemical-resistant basecoat, but it can yellow in UV. Polyaspartic is a UV-stable, flexible topcoat that cures fast. We use both in a hybrid system to get the best of each. See our Epoxy vs Polyaspartic guide for a full breakdown.

How long will my floor last?

A properly installed Cornerstone flake system will last 15+ years in a residential garage and typically outlives the roof over it. Commercial floors depend on traffic, but 10–15 years is common with basic maintenance.

Is the floor slippery when wet?

Accepted Answer

Flake systems have natural grip because of the vinyl chip texture. If you're coating a patio, pool deck, or high-water area, we can add an anti-slip aggregate to the topcoat.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, a 15-year residential warranty against peeling, delamination, and hot-tire pickup when installed by Cornerstone. Commercial systems come with a written warranty scoped to the project.

What does the 15-year warranty actually cover?

Accepted Answer

The warranty covers manufacturer defects and install-related failures, things like peeling, delamination, hot-tire pickup, or a chip or piece of the system coming loose when it shouldn't. It does not cover normal wear and tear, cosmetic scratches, damage from impact (dropped tools, jack stands, dragged equipment), harsh chemical spills left to sit, or issues caused by slab movement or moisture problems outside our control. Bottom line: if something goes wrong that just isn't supposed to happen, we stand behind it. Full written warranty terms are provided with every install.

How do I clean and maintain my new floor?

Sweep or dust-mop weekly and rinse with warm water and a pH-neutral cleaner as needed. Skip anything acidic (vinegar, citrus cleaners) and never use a steamer. That's it.
